Academic Support Programs: Artificial Intelligence, Attention and Academic Success

September 29 @ 3:00 pm4:00 pm

Artificial intelligence is changing the learning landscape in significant ways. Social networks use A.I. to maximize our time on screen, which impacts our long-term ability to focus and learn deeply. Moreover, the emergence of large language models (LLMS) can change the way we might learn or accomplish any number of tasks.

But consider: what do faculty think about the use of A.I. in their courses? Does A.I. deepen or hinder your learning and potential for success at the university? How can you mitigate some of the negative impacts of A.I./social-networks on your ability to focus?

This workshop addresses these and other relevant questions, offering practical ideas to help you thrive academically in the midst of this tricky landscape.
