What did this landscape look like before it became home to the University of Washington? How has it changed since the first building was built here 130 years ago? Which histories have been popularized by those in power, and which have quietly been forgotten? The Husky History Exploration highlights ten landmarks significant to the university’s natural, indigenous, colonial, and political histories.
Visit these spaces in any order and learn about the University of Washington’s past and present. Write down the secret code at each location on the Husky History Passport – you can pick up a passport at the Dawg Daze information booth or Mary Gates Hall 120. Fill in all ten codes and you’ll be rewarded with a small exclusive prize and entered into a raffle for a larger prize. The Husky History Exploration can also be accessed on our website.
