Swing Kids at UW Beginner Lesson

September 26 @ 1:30 pm2:30 pm

Join Swing Kids at UW for an hour-long introduction to the Lindy Hop! All skill levels are welcome, regardless of prior dance experience. And if you have fun, you can join us at our Reverie Ballroom outing on Sept. 27!

Swing Kids at UW are a group of college students dedicated to learning Lindy Hop swing. Lindy Hop is a partner dance developed in the 20’s and 30’s in Harlem, NY. Born from African rhythms and European structured dance, the style consists of 6 and 8 count steps borrowing footwork from Charleston and Tap. UW Swing Kids teach and encourage the university’s community to learn the joys of swing dancing through affordable weekly lessons, quarter dances, and social outing opportunities.
