Join Swing Kids at UW as we venture to Reverie Ballroom in Capitol Hill for an exciting night of Lindy Hop social dancing!
We are meeting at the U District light rail station at 8:30– bring your student ID for $5 admission to a night of dancing, plus a 30-minute beginner lesson (all skill levels welcome!) from professionals.
Swing Kids at UW are a group of college students dedicated to learning Lindy Hop swing. Lindy Hop is a partner dance developed in the 20’s and 30’s in Harlem, NY. Born from African rhythms and European structured dance, the style consists of 6 and 8 count steps borrowing footwork from Charleston and Tap. UW Swing Kids teach and encourage the university’s community to learn the joys of swing dancing through affordable weekly lessons, quarter dances, and social outing opportunities.
