Tech Policy Lab Tech Policy Discussion

September 24 @ 12:30 pm1:30 pm

The Tech Policy Lab is a unique, interdisciplinary collaboration at the University of Washington that aims to enhance technology policy through research, education, and thought leadership. Founded in 2013 by faculty from the University’s Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering, Information School, and School of Law, the Lab aims to bridge the gap between technologists and policymakers and to help generate wiser, more inclusive tech policy.

During the academic year, the TPL hosts weekly Tech Policy Discussions open to all students. At our Discussions, we discuss current events in tech policy. We treat tech policy quite broadly, so discussion topics could range from social media companies to space law to European legislation regarding privacy. Our Discussions often include undergraduates from a variety of majors, as well as PhD students studying Computer Science and Informatics, as well as Law Students. These Discussions take place every Thursday at 12:30 PM in the Tech Policy Lab, which is located in William H. Gates Hall (School of Law), Room 222.

The Tech Policy Discussion on September 24th is a unique opportunity for incoming students to learn about the Tech Policy Lab as well as our weekly Tech Policy Discussions.
