SUMMARY:Husky History Exploration: Self-Guided Tour

Write down the secret code at each location on the Husky History Passport – you can pick up a passport at the Dawg Daze information booth or Mary Gates Hall 120. SUMMARY:Socialist Alternative at UW Open Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Socialist Alternative led the movements behind the $15/hour minimum wage and tax on Amazon in Seattle\, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. \nThe Minnesota strike in January was the strongest pushback on Trump so far\, forcing him to reduce the presence of ICE. Months later\, deportations have ramped up and federal prosecutors have charged 15 Minnesota activists for their participation in the struggle against ICE’s violent occupation of the Twin Cities. The fight to defend the Minnesota 15\, half of whom are union members\, is a crucial step in the fight against ICE. We call for a mass public defense campaign to be launched by labor unions\, rapid response networks\, immigrant rights groups\, student groups\, and socialist organizations. \nCome to our open meeting to discuss the strategies it will take to win affordable housing\, an end to the genocide in Gaza\, and rights for trans people\, immigrants\, and all workers. \nWe say: \n\nNo deportations! Build school\, community\, and union deportation defense committees!\nNo money for war and genocide! Fund schools and social services!\nFight climate change! Take the fossil fuel industry into democratic public ownership for a total transition to renewable energy!\nEnd attacks on trans youth! Free healthcare for all including gender-affirming care and abortion access!\nThe Democrats are a dead end! Build a new\, anti-war mass party of students and working people to fight Trump and the far right!\nWe need a new system: join the fight for socialism!\n\nCome learn how to use fighting strategies to win real victories.
